Cat Lady was no different. Mia is an interesting character with many quirks - and a slightly unhealthy relationship with her cat, Pigeon. 𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙.

Cat Lady is amusing whilst highlighting some real life issues and I definitely found myself wanting to pick it back up and get back to reading - I loved the characters and the plot (in the main). Welcome to the world of Mia….

I truly do not know how to give this tail (get it? What a powerful way of delving into the way society treat mental health issues and grief.

As always, I fly through Dawn's books, they always make me laugh and are a joy to read. Absolutely, yes. This book is about a women’s loneliness and grief and how it controlled her life making her even more sad……. (Ps Margot 🐱 enjoyed sleeping next to book when I wasn’t reading it!

Midway through the book, I almost felt my heart stop. Funny, sad, cringeworthy, shocking, deep, emotional, loving and unconventional! The extended cast of characters including her colleagues, her sister’s family, her support group and her husband, really brought everything to zingy life. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but at the back of my mind, I expected compelling characters, sprinklings of wit and something deeply thoughtful as I’d read some of Dawn’s previous work.
